Barranquilla is located on the Caribbean coast, in northern Colombia. It has a tropical climate, characterized by high temperatures throughout the year. The average temperature in Barranquilla ranges from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius. The city is situated at the mouth of the Magdalena River, and it has a flat and low-lying terrain that is crisscrossed by a network of rivers and canals. The city is surrounded by swamps and marshes, and it is located near the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range. Due to its location near the equator, Barranquilla experiences relatively consistent temperatures and strong rainfalls, with the wettest months being October and November.
